Thanks karen. I wish all mothers on this blog and elsewhere in the world today, a happy Mother's Day. My thoughts are spent on mothers in Iraq who have lost their husbands and children and those who haven't. My thoughts are with the mothers in Myanmar who are desperately trying to feed and keep the living children alive and safe. I think too of the children all across Africa and the world who don't have a mother to hold them when they fear the warring and hurt from hunger.
And I wish all of us who are much luckier than many mothers, love and nurturing today. It's a day for mothers to be nurtured. I heard of 2 little 10 year olds yesterday. One said to her grandmother on Monday, in answer to, "What would you most like to do this year?" She said, "I can't wait for Mother's Day. Stella (friend) and I have been planning this for a long time. We are going to make our mothers a nice hot drink every two hours. We are going to make a surprise lunch for them. And then we are going to make them sushi for tea." They don't live together - this is happening in their respective houses. Kerri would be on her 2nd hot drink for the day right now.
This message from Teresa is lovely. Thankyou.
That's great!!
Is Bill starting class war?
"Hillary is in this race because of people like you and places like this and no matter what they say," Clinton said. "And no matter how much fun they make of your support of her and the fact that working people all over America have stuck with her, she thinks you're as smart as they are. She thinks you've got as much right to have your say as anybody else. And, you know, they make a lot of fun of me because I like to campaign in places like this, they say I have been exiled to rural America, as if that was a problem. I don't know about you, but I'd rather be here than listening to that stuff I have to hear on television, I'd rather be with you. There is a simple reason: You need a president a lot more than those people telling you not to vote for her."
Happy MOther's day everyone!
Thanks, "momma T" for trying to help moms!

No, he's just perpetuating one. How condescending.
It is condescending - & Begala said Obama's base is African Americans and eggheads.
Does it occur to him that entire groups, such as African Americans and women, once rallied round his wife?
OMG. I just had the best idea of who should be Obama's VP running mate: Elizabeth Edwards!
I know her prognosis wasn't great, but I also think that her words and advocacy would be important no matter how long she has left to live. And even though she could afford health care even without insurance, her passion to help make sure those who can't afford it would be important to have in the ongoing fight for universal health care.
Ok. so my computer is really messing up. Just so you all know...if you notice fragmented-like sentences, it's because the curser seems to pop itself wherever it wants to go. And then the computer itself starts running and refusing to let me switch the enter-points. (Sort of like locking up every time I insert the curser somewhere else.)
Sitting in the front garden of his well-kept home in the city's Al-Fursi district, he remains a free man, despite having stamped on, suffocated and then stabbed his student daughter to death.
Abdel-Qader, 46, a government employee, was initially arrested but released after two hours. Astonishingly, he said, police congratulated him on what he had done. 'They are men and know what honour is,' he said.
Rand, who was studying English at Basra University, was deemed to have brought shame on her family after becoming infatuated with a British soldier, 22, known only as Paul.
She died a virgin, according to her closest friend Zeinab. Indeed, her 'relationship' with Paul, which began when she worked as a volunteer helping displaced families and he was distributing water, appears to have consisted of snatched conversations over less than four months. But the young, impressionable Rand fell in love with him, confiding her feelings and daydreams to Zeinab, 19.
It was her first youthful infatuation and it would be her last. She died on 16 March after her father discovered she had been seen in public talking to Paul, considered to be the enemy, the invader and a Christian. Though her horrified mother, Leila Hussein, called Rand's two brothers, Hassan, 23, and Haydar, 21, to restrain Abdel-Qader as he choked her with his foot on her throat, they joined in. Her shrouded corpse was then tossed into a makeshift grave without ceremony as her uncles spat on it in disgust.
'Death was the least she deserved,' said Abdel-Qader. 'I don't regret it. I had the support of all my friends who are fathers, like me, and know what she did was unacceptable to any Muslim that honours his religion,' he said.
Sitting on a chair by his front door and surrounded by the gerberas and white daisies he had planted in the family garden, Abel-Qader attempted to justify his actions.
'I don't have a daughter now, and I prefer to say that I never had one. That girl humiliated me in front of my family and friends. Speaking with a foreign solider, she lost what is the most precious thing for any woman. 'People from western countries might be shocked, but our girls are not like their daughters that can sleep with any man they want and sometimes even get pregnant without marrying. Our girls should respect their religion, their family and their bodies.
'I have only two boys from now on. That girl was a mistake in my life. I know God is blessing me for what I did,' he said, his voice swelling with pride. 'My sons are by my side, and they were men enough to help me finish the life of someone who just brought shame to ours.'
Abdel-Qader, a Shia, says he was released from the police station 'because everyone knows that honour killings sometimes are impossible not to commit'. Chillingly, he said: 'The officers were by my side during all the time I was there, congratulating me on what I had done.' It's a statement that, if true, provides an insight into how vast the gulf remains between cultures in Iraq and between the Basra police the British army that trains them.
Sources have indicated that Abdel-Qader, who works in the health department, has been asked to leave because of the bad publicity, yet he will continue to draw a salary.
And it has been alleged by one senior unnamed official in the Basra governorate that he has received financial support by a local politician to enable him to 'disappear' to Jordan for a few weeks, 'until the story has been forgotten' - the usual practice in the 30-plus cases of 'honour' killings that have been registered since January alone.
Such treatment seems common in Basra, where militias have partial control, especially in the districts on the outskirts where Abdel-Qader lives.
While government security forces and British troops have control over the centre, around the fringes militants can still be seen everywhere on the streets or at the checkpoints they have erected. And they have imposed strict laws of behaviour for all the local people, including what clothing should be worn and what religious practices should be observed. There are reports of men having their hands cut off for looting and women being killed for prostitution.
Homosexuality is punishable by death, a sentence Abdel-Qader approves of with a passion. 'I have alerted my two sons. They will have the same end [as Rand] if they become contaminated with any gay relationship. These crimes deserve death - death in the name of God,' he said.
He said his daughter's 'bad genes were passed on from her mother'. Rand's mother, 41, remains in hiding after divorcing her husband in the immediate aftermath of the killing, living in fear of retribution from his family. She also still bears the scars of the severe beating he inflicted on her, breaking her arm in the process, when she told him she was going. 'They cannot accept me leaving him. When I first left I went to a cousin's home, but every day they were delivering notes to my door saying I was a prostitute and deserved the same death as Rand,' she said.
'She was killed by animals. Every night when go to bed I remember the face of Rand calling for help while her father and brothers ended her life,' she said, tears streaming down her face.

I suggest
Obama/Richardson - for the west, the Hispanic concentration, & the double dose of integrity & Richardson was an Ambassador
Obama/Biden - for the issue of experience as well - he predicted that Iraq would split into three huge factions & he was right
We are putting positivity at http://www.baracklikeme.com but plenty of digs for the flailing opponent (HRC) and the apparent general election opponent (St John) at http://www.silencedmajority.blogs.com.
This video shows a confrontation with a Code Pink supporter - HRC appears very "Marie Antoinette" in it.
At the link is the Saturday Night Live parody of Hillary & all about the McCain campaign manager who had to step down because of his connections with the Burmese government and their abysmal human rights record, as well as about his land swap to benefit a donor & his wife's refusal to be forthright about her beer fortune (even though THK was pressured much more at this time in the 2004 campaign)
Christy
Thanks for sharing that horrible, barbaric story of honor killing. Brought to you courtesy of extremist Islam (which the US government supports through many different channels).
I have a feeling that the Christian extremists in this country want to do the same, with generous help from their South Korean benefactors.
I will be sharing that article with my Writing for Social Change class, especially since instructor Gayle Brandeis (of CODEPINK, of course) has been writing email alerts on the plight of Iraqi women for this Mother's Day.
Evangelicals for Obama? It could happen
http://baracklikeme.blogspot.com/2008/05/evangelicals-for-obama-it-could-happen.html
They went with Reagan .. they are still out there .. if they can see the light, to some extent, it's probably good. To unify this country, there has to be an element of this. People are religious - they need to not think in terms of war and us/them ("God is on our side") mentality but more toward caring about the poor, practicing brotherly love for ALL (not just people who look like them physically or live nearby.)
Nyc is a former Marine who served in the Gulf and a former Republican in the Reagan era. It is in this spirit that I cooperate with him on this project.
Happy Mother's Day everyone!

I have to admit I like Obama/Biden. Not sure if Biden has any past sins, but on the surface it's an excellent idea.

Obama attends the C.O.C., a denomination that has members all across the U.S. and around the world. The one I went to for ten years consisted of very well educated, responsible, cerebral, positive, helpful, and, I want to STRESS, MODERATE people. Most of the people at the church I attended had at least Bachelor's degrees, most had advanced degrees, many had their doctorates. Our pastor was also a philosophy professor at the University there. That's why I think I understand Obama and think he is sincere. I have never seen any people of that denomination be radical extremists as far as acting out emotionally or imposing their beliefs on other people.
I have also been to black churches, and they have a different (not bad) worship style, I would call it more animated and enthusiastic, a little louder style, but not so much because they were nut cases but more so as it was a part of their culture. BTW, I think their culture is beautiful, and although I don't share the same style, I honor and respect theirs very much.

Hey Rossi,
I've been thinking on what we were talking about the other night, about the soldiers being cremated at the same facilities as pets. I didn't mean to seem coldblooded about it but, I still just don't get it.
They were not cremating the soldiers in the same crematorium, they are not even in the same building, nor did I see anywhere a single offered case that animal and human remains had been mixed, but maybe I missed something.
To me, yes it does cause a kneejerk reaction, but the deeper it goes the more contrived it seems.
Animal or human the most sanitary way to get rid of remains is cremation and there is simply not enough facilities that can cremate both. The fact people brought their beloved pets to be disposed of is no more strange than us incinerating humans. Any humans.
I just don't get how it is shocking, other than the IMPLICATION of 'dishonor'.
I mean, how ironic is that people are outraged by the disposal of our soldiers bodies along side pets, yet not outraged they got dead for nothing more or less than georgies obscene lies...? How sick is it that of all things THAT is what is suppossed to be 'so outrageous'. How many of my countries beloved soldiers do you and I both suspect are in mass graves in Iraq, or being dumped into the Tigris River, yet THIS is suppossed to hurt my sense of 'honor'...?
I just don't get it.
This whole notion of 'dignified death' is unrealistic. There is nothing noble or dignified about being dead. Just the work of getting it out of sight as fast as possible.
Now, all this is completely dependant on the practices of that company, because we have seen mortuary companies in this country do ghastly things... But, if it is true that the facilaties were seperate and they kept it seperate and up to snuff... Then it is a non-scandal that is very useful as pentagon propaganda.
To me, the outrage is contrived and manufactured. Of all the things to be outraged about, this is nothing compared to the other injustices our soldiers are subjigated to at the hands of georgie.
Christy
Well said!
TY NMP.
It is so strange to me a dog is without argument 'mans best friend', but yet, not good enough to lay beside us in death. That somehow their remains will 'taint' ours even if they are handled seperately.
Not sure about you guys, but I would rather be buried with a good dog than go to my grave next to a bad man.
The only 'dishonor' I can see is if the company was just sloppy and shady. But I have not heard a single indication of that so far.
Of all the things to be outraged about, this is nothing compared to the other injustices our soldiers are subjigated to at the hands of georgie.
Amen
Have I ever told yall about 'The Night of the Cow'...?
I can not even think about cremating people anymore without thinking about that stupid cow.
It was one of the worst and funniest moments of my life, and it just goes to show no matter how dignified or respectful of the dead you are... shit happens.
I'm afraid to even ask!!
HAHA!
You are not afraid of anything except fire.
But who is not scared of fire?
One sec to write it all down. Seriously it was hillarious.
As yall know I was a dancer once, and I had a toy named Jerry. Jerrys' crew/people were actually all a group contracted out the coroner to transport dead bodies. Only the coroner has the authority to move a body.
Anyways, suicides, murders, acidents, natural deaths, whatever, they went onto the scene to remove and transport. And they worked insane hours, very little sleep, high burn out.
One night Jerry gets called to deliver a 34 year old male to Texas, post mortum. Died of a massive heart attack, never knew he had a malformed heart till it killed him. It was like midnight when he got the call and the drive was 4 hours one way so I went to keep him awake. Being alone that long in a confined space with a dead body you start seeing things, hearing things, if your alone with them its really bad.
Anyways, it kinda freaked me out right away cause this guy had donated his bones to science, and they had boned his legs. Through the heels, it was trippy. You see wierd things all the time and you have to talk yourself into just accepting them real fast, no matter how bad it is.
So, 4 hours later we are in Nowhere Texas. I mean this funeral home was out in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by these huge fields, and a real big cemetary on three sides.
Just as we pull up at like 4 am a real heavy fog is rolling into the cemetary, and after 4 hours in the truck with that dudes body it just kinda seemed like it was suppossed to happen. A foggy cemetary. A dead guy. No one around to see the business of the dead being carried out. At first it was funny.
We pull around to the service door which is steel with a big square window in it and the mortician is waiting so we get this guy out of the truck and upstairs.
Since he had already been autopsied, there was no need to prep him much for the furnace. Watching them trying to handle his legs was freaking me out so bad, and after I helped as much as I could I got the hell out before they put him in the oven.
When we are burned, the oxygen trapped in the cells explode at high temps, the bones also explode and splinter, but the oxygen exploding emits this high pitch unnattural...scream. That's the only word I know to describe it. It is eerie and haunting.
I had no desire to hear it so I go back outside, right outside the service door to calm down, get some fresh air and try to stop freaking out.
I'm beside the door with the corner of the buiding about 4 feet on the opposite side of me, and I spark up a big fat joint. I mean a real ghetto proud hogleg of some real rightious swag. It worked at first, I was like 'I am ok.'
And as I smoke I am leaned up against this building looking out at graves beginning some 20 feet from me just completely enveloped in this heavy peasoup fog. Like something right out of a vampire movie. So then I start thinking 'OMG! Vampires.'
So then, of course, that gives way to werewolves, see. And I just can't believe I am standing there looking at a literal scene from a horror movie.
At some point, halfway through my joint, my brain splits in two. By this time I am reliving every horror movie I ever saw on one side of my head. On the other side, I started arguing with myself.
"Do you hear that?"... 'Of course I don't hear that, you're high b*tch, stop being a child.'... "No but really... Did you HEAR that?" ... 'No. I don't hear that. I really really do not hear something.'..."Well, I hear something." This went on for a good 2 minutes.
And then all the sudden I realized I DID hear something, and it was not only right around the corner from me, it was FREAKING HUGE, and coming fast. I could hear it breathing.
I can not tell you I understand why my mind just completely and totally accepted in an instant that I was about to get eaten by a werewolf, but I did accept it. Completely.
In a split second I KNEW I was going to be eaten. By a werewolf. There was no doubt, no struggle with it, I just knew it and reacted the only way I knew how. I ran.
I get through the door just as it comes around the corner behind me. I get into the bottom of the stairwell as the door is swinging shut, and just like a bad horror movie, I stumble and fall flat on my face with a werewolf 2 feet behind me.
At this point, I also easily accepted I was dead. Gone. Murdered. Eaten. I knew all I had time to do was get a look at the son of a b*tch about to eat me. I wanted to look him in the eye.
So I flip onto my back, just as the door closes, and in the square window, a freaking cow is just staring at me through the glass.
To this day I don't know why I screamed THEN, and not before. But scream I did, at the top of my lungs, and I could not stop screaming. I heard things being knocked over and thrown aside as the men upstairs rushed down to me, and when they got to me, all I could do was sit there on the floor screaming 'It's a COW!' It's a f*ing cow!"
The mortician got all mad and said 'Not again!' like that crap happens in cemetaries every night, and runs out to round up this stupid cow.
By the time we left that freaking place I was as traumatized as a person could be. To this day I hate cows, I think they are stupid and I am glad we eat them. Screw them.
"Screw them"
PLEASE DON'T!
hahahahaha

Can someone please post this video here? OMFG it is SOOOOO good! He really loses it, too funny!
O’Reilly’s meltdown: ‘F*ck it! F*cking thing sucks!’
http://thinkprogress.org/
Ben Doko sent this letter written by our friend Glenda which appeared in a local paper on Friday regarding the editor's take that it was just "fine" for ABC News to ask Obama repeatedly about the flag pin and his minister's patriotism.
Enterprise
Please allow me to counterpoint Evan Smith's Forum editorial: Defending the "ABCNews Questions in the PA debate" on 5-2-08. He viewed their questions of flag lapel pins rather than issues as "fine". He continued, "There is little difference between Clinton and Obama on the issues - more people agreed with Kerry on the issues than Bush, but they couldn't identify with Kerry's elitist nature." It is clear: the media is again perpetuating the sad status quo in politics of wanting voter preference to rely on personality rather than on substance and knowledge of the issues.
If all this sounds familiar, it should. The media used patriotism and elitism against John Kerry to help re-elect President Bush in 2004. John Kerry was hounded by the media to prove his patriotism despite 2-tours of service in Vietnam under gunfire (swift-boating). Where was the hard scrutiny of Bush? The subliminal message was "Kerry is unpatriotic, and he can't be trusted to protect America. Be fearful."
The continual questioning by ABCNews and the media regarding Obama's failure to wear a flag pin allows the voter to question Obama's patriotism. Where is the scrutiny as to why Clinton nor McCain wear a flag pin? Obama must be unpatriotic. Can he be trusted to protect America? Be fearful!
Kerry was painted as a wine-sipping, latte-drinking elitist. Voters preferred that beer with Bush. Hillary is in a bar downing shots! Obama is out-of-touch and an elitist! The media's obsession with presidential beer popularity has driven us onto the low-road of politics. Bush's failure as a student, lack of curiosity, his incompetence and corruption has steered our government into the ditch.
Downing a beer might help us deal with the serious issues created by that popular president. However, we need more than the media's 2004 talking points of patriotism and elitism. 81% think we are on the wrong track, so this election must rise above elitism, patriotism, and popularity in 2008. Knowledge of the issues must define our thinking and vote. Democracy depends on an informed citizenry. Vote Smart!

O'Reilly Meltdown
Now check the front page because in a moment it will be about these type of pundits and their mentality and what it has done to our country.
well well well O'Reilly has had the video pulled.
nmp-Christy,
I followed the link to "Think Progress". From there, they mention that the video was pulled. But they said to view it at the original link. SO there, I went.
At the original link, it had a link to their video that they posted at Youtube. So, I clicked on their link.
That took me to Youtube where it says, "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by CBS Broadcasting, Inc"
And so I looked down at all the other vids that were there at the same time, and they were all about sex (lesbian sex). (xxx kind of stuff!)
So is there a connection to the xxx stuff being there where the O'Rielly video should have been?

Quiet US Confession
Weapons Were Not Made In Iran After All

In a sharp reversal of its longstanding accusations against Iran arming militants in Iraq , the US military has made an unprecedented albeit quiet confession: the weapons they had recently found in Iraq were not made in Iran at all.

Josh Fry, a 24-year-old ambulance driver from Williamson, insisted he was not racist but said he would feel more comfortable with Mr McCain, the 71-year-old Vietnam war hero, in the White House. "I want someone who is a full-blooded American as president," he said.
http://us.ft.com/ftgateway/superpage.ft?news_id=fto051120081526533438&page=2
Hey Josh... If you have to insist you are not a racist, it is most likely because you just said or will say something racist, which you did.
Oh, and Josh, if you are googling yourself and see this... Unless you look just like Chief Sitting Bull, you need to shut the hell up.
So, how about Obama-Hagel?
Josh Fry needs to be educated aboutr Mr McCain and how "Full-blooded American" he is. Afterall, how many full-blooded Americans are closely tied to the government corruption as McCain was part of the Keating 5.
How many "Full Americans" are in bed with the lobbyists?
And how many "Full Americans" allow someone to question their child's paternity and then turn around and campaign and HUG that person who harmed their child?
And how many "Full Americans" divorce their wife right after a car accident and then mary a rich-babe with lots of money and then have that family support your run for Congress?
As a "Full American" myself, Josh, I have a lot more valuable qualities than Mr. McCain does.
Mr. McCain makes lying so common place that he can not tell what he has said to different groups. Mr. McCain has no interest in YOU and YOUR FAMILY, Josh, instead, all he wants is to put more money in Cindy's pocket book and his.
The way he let Bush and Rove beat up on his own child while he hugged them is proof that YOU are NOTHING to him. Just like his daughter was cannon fodder to him.
And also, Josh, you are a racist if you think that 'diverse' or 'colored' means unAmerican. This country was founded by people who were not born on this soil.
So Josh, I agree with Christy. If you read this on a google search, let it be clear, you are behaving unChristian-like when you promote racism over honesty. And you are unChristian when you prefer a lying old white man to an honest, young black man. And you are unChristian when you hide behind your words. Because Jesus knows what was in your mind and heart. And since God created ALL MEN, your dissing of a black man is against God's laws.

I think there's some "hack" stuff going on because I ended up at a YouTube link that had nothing to do with sex, lesbianism etc. and there were videos like that and then I clicked on something - can't remember the title - and it had the Hillary "Big Brother" video, which had nothing to do with the title I clicked on.
Christy
I cannot be "proud to be an American" very much as long as this shit happens. I read an article at DailyKos all about how we should give the people of West Virginia and Kentucky a chance and all that. I know there are good people there and I felt a little inspired and went to Obama's site and got ten numbers to call.
Results:
Susan - disconnected
Linda - not home, left voicemail
Shelley - not home, left voicemail
Kelli - not home, left voicemail
Gloria - husband answered and said "Ma'am I wouldn't vote for that nigger if he was dead", then hung up.
Violet - husband answered and said "You're callin' the wrong number HERE for that, Baby," then hung up.
Melissa - not home, left voicemail
Justine - busy
Alice - undecided, sounded like she had no idea what I was talking about - not rude but actually sounded confused
Gail - not home, left voicemail
Both of those "hard working" men were home while there wives were probably out working and they hung up because they did not had "lost their bearings" like McCain so were afraid to talk to me.
My God, if we can get culture and ideas to the far corners of the globe, why are so many people making excuses for these idiots - that they are too poor to have computers etc.? I grew up in a 10 x 50 trailer and right now my unemployed son who does not have insurance lives here and I am eating beans.
Why is it that Obama had to take flak for talking about his "typical white" grandmother and then when Hillary talked about "hard working white people" she didn't even consider his hard-working white grandparents in Kansas, or his hard-working white mother.
This is too embarrassing to write about on the front page where Woz was talking about the barbarism vs civility topic - too many people from other lands might happen across it on the front page. We are already the laughing stock of the world, the new South Africa.
I say we:
1. Rout out the insiders, both parties.
2. Use the 50 state plan and get out the vote.
The Clintons used the "swing state" plan 18 years ago. The world has changed since then. Young people have moved away from those God forsaken places, just like I did when I was old enough. Let's gang up and GOTV everywhere else and change the damn math.
The only reason these Dixiecrats vote Democrat in the first place is because the Republican party of Lincoln freed the slaves so that pisses them off. They are between a rock and hard place and that's why they are "swing" voters. I am not feeling very sorry for them and they are not useful. They don't need to hijack the Presidency any more.
The south can only be changed from within and the same goes for the military and those are too revolutions we need. In the meantime, we need a new "civil rights movement" except it needs to do more than just deal with race. Race needs to be a "non-issue."
I was taught not to say "nigger" - I taught my son that I was taught not to say "nigger" and he found it an interesting curiosity. He was absolutely amazed to hear me making my calls to West Virginia and it blew the top off my head that the first person I talked to was straight out of Deliverance where I get alot of my stereotypes, since I've never been to West Virginia.
When I was 15 I met a black Sergeant who had been in Vietnam and he was from Chicago. He found France to be less racist than US (he had been stationed in Germany too), though that is debatable in some of their regions (also their south, ironically.) Anyway, some guys from Tennessee got onto the Greyhound with us and threatened me if I sat next to the guy again. I told the driver and continued to sit there and they didn't do anything but fume.
South Dakota was racist toward the Sioux (and I'm part Sioux but not enough that you can immediately tell) so people there thought they weren't racist ("we don't have hardly any blacks" they'd say - they didn't say "nigger" or "colored" but their parents may have.)
Then there was my Uncle who, when Martin Luther King was shot said "They finally got the Son of a Bitch" and we left after that. I did get called a "nigger lover" for reading all the books about racism that were given to our school library under a JFK era grant. & there was a little Sioux girl in my school who kept a notebook in which she wrote down "mean things people said about Indians."
Obama is popular among the few Democrats in South Dakota and I hear that he is making inroads on the reservations. In 2004, there was an attempt to disenfranchise them (the ID thing.) Something needs to change - the argument about "electability" depending on these damn "swing states" that are borderline Republican needs to negated. If it is true, it needs to be rendered untrue by masses of voters who rebel if they are kept from voting.
If there is any funny business this time, people need to take to the streets. & I know what side it will be on & it will not be along race or gender or age lines. It will be on the side of the person who is the most correct - not "politically correct" but truly politically CORRECT as in accurate and right and moral (not "religiously" moral but absolutely moral, according to laws not made by man or by man's "Gods.")
McCain is NOT a "full American" - he was born in Panama.
Besides, he has no "bearings" - Lieberman checked and said they were still there but I don't believe it.
That is one ugly story. These people are so stupid they don't even care how ugly it makes them look to use those kinds of words.
How's this for a campaign slogan: "The dumber you are, the more you'll vote Hillary!"
Matthew
They are so dumb they can't decide whether to vote for Hillary or McCain - that's why they're called "swing" voters and they need to be rendered irrelevant.
Ten point plan:
1. Win BIG in Oregon especially but also Montana, South Dakota.
2. Reduce gains of HRC and media attention r/t WV and KY old school
"swing" voters
3. Do not waste time (Obama) pandering to them but just hit their
biggest cities like Louisville and Charleston (which he's doing)
4. Start engaging McCain on competitive turf (like Missouri, which
Obama's doing), which forces him to go on the defensive and
do things like go to OR to talk about "environment" to swing
voters & Dems (somewhat occupying him with "busywork")
5. GET OUT THE VOTE every moment in every state, especially in
urban and civilized areas (that is the truth, call it "elitist" if you
will and I will point out that you are a "barbarian.") GOTV in
these areas because they have more delegates.
6. Encourage that Bob Barr guy, as he is a Republican running as
a Libertarian and he could be McCain's "Nader"
7. Encourage the Ron Paul people, as they can really disrupt the
Republican convention and they are ready to do so.
8. Change every OppoDem and Republican frame - throw it back
in their face. Change the terminology. Make up new frames
and do it with authority.
9. Kill your television. You can get enough off the internet and
YouTube to get the "gist" of what the media is doing and you
can find out alot more AND your perspective will be FRESH,
which helps immensely with the framing.
10. Be the media. Make t-shirts, posters etc. but also write directly
to newspaper columnists. They have big egos so they do read
it, believe me. Start with a compliment, to get their attention,
then make it conditional (...but) - it's a trick I learned in marriage
counselling. Use your numbers to FLOOD anything you want
blocked (YouTube, sponsors, you name it.) It will work.
I received this from Seattle for Obama list - it's an article critiquing the masculine approach HRC has taken to winning/competing

The man who sent it wondered how an emphasis of gender identity with a forceful, positive campaign on "female" characteristics would have helped (or hindered) her quest for the White House. (I suppose he means as compared with the Rocky style)
Here is how we presented it visually (boxing imagery & assn w/Madonna):

Here is a story about the town of Obama Japan:

Brace yourself when you FINALLY read this headline.

My daughter got a poll tonight. Most of it was about health care. Imagine them asking about the 'level of trust for xyz health insurance...'
Oh. And the poll also asked if she was a union member (or anyone in her family). The rest was fairly typical.
Speaking of polls, this one is promising - here is the PDF
http://www.abcnews.go.com/images/PollingUnit/1064a208Election.pdf
GENERAL
OBAMA 51%
McCain 44%
Clinton 46 %
McCain 43%
NOMINATION
OBAMA 53%
Clinton 41%
So need to compensate for WV & KY with other states & superdelegates
Really,
How many 'full blooded Americans'.... are born in freaking PANAMA!
HAHAHAHAHA!
God the stupidity! It BURNS!

Obama Muslim Smear Resurfaces: NYT Op-Ed Tags Obama As Muslim 'Apostate'
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/05/12/obama-muslim-smear-resurf_n_101409.html
This election is shaping up to be as ugly as the Election of 1864 - Lincon versus McClellen - when the old Democrats ran against Lincoln using arguments like he was advocating racial intermarriage (not a popular idea right about then) and using ads with pictures of blacks and whites kissing.
The author of that Times pieces, a Mr. Luttack, received some rather harsh criticism from the readership today, particularly from Muslim readers. His knowledge of Muslim culture is up there with Joe Lieberman's.
The more I think about it, the more I think that I like the idea of Obama-Hagel as a ticket (floated on Hardball today). It allows you position Obama at the head of an bipartsian "get out of Iraq" ticket - and Hagel's presence utterly puts the Commander-in-Chief issue to bed, and opens the door to Ron Paul-ish Republicans to come on over.
Shoot, Kill, Lie, Repeat: America's New Moral Universe
When even the scapegoats escape justice, what possible hope can there be that the perpetrators and abettors of the Nazi-like war crime in Iraq will ever pay the price -- or even suffer the slightest trouble -- for their monstrous outrage?
Friday, 09 May 2008
Tell me that this doesn't sound like something out of a history of Nazi tactics in World War II:
The rules [of engagement]t explicitly allowed the killing of unarmed Iraqis under certain circumstances...Specifically, the snipers were allowed to shoot unarmed people running away from explosions or firefights....Of course, it's not unusual for innocent people to run from explosions.
Didier, who has since been promoted to captain, said that "if that individual makes contact with you and then breaks contact of their own accord and disarms themselves while they are breaking contact, they are still an engageable target because they are not wounded, nor did they surrender." He explained, "They are only breaking contact so that they can engage coalition forces at a later time." In court, Sgt. Anthony Murphy, one of the snipers who was responsible for a questionable kill, testified that he interpreted this order about breaking contact so they can engage at a later time as: "Engage fleeing local nationals without weapons."
In other words, if an innocent, unarmed Iraqi runs away to seek safety from a suicide bombing, a missile attack or a gunfight -- which any human being would instinctively do -- then he is fair game to be killed by an American sniper.
The excerpt above comes from a story in Salon.com, "Killing by the Numbers," about an "elite" U.S. sniper squad that murdered a captured, unarmed civilian in cold blood. A more detailed excerpt follows below, but I'd like to deal briefly with one ancillary aspect first.
The story expands to talk more generally about the sniper program in Iraq, and is careful -- overly careful -- to emphasize that the snipers responsible for so many "questionable kills" are operating in very stressful conditions: sleep-deprived, sweltering in deadly heat, surrounded by potential "hostiles," at constant risk of attack. All true, of course, but it prompts this simple question: What the hell are they doing there in the first place? Why are they squatting and sweltering in "hides" in a foreign land, looking to kill people who never attacked the United States?
Yes, it is entirely understandable that a soldier subjected to nerve-wracking, physically tormenting conditions might fail to act with reason, patience, judgment and prudence. But is this supposed to be some kind of excuse for crimes committed within the context of a larger crime: a war of aggression, the military invasion and occupation of a foreign country without any provocation? Surely many of the Nazi atrocities were committed by men under unbearable mental and physical strain as well. So what? Were they absolved of their crimes? And more importantly -- were their leaders absolved for instigating the larger crime that engendered these atrocities?
For as the story also shows, the "questionable kills" by American snipers derive largely from the murderous "rules of engagement" they are given by their superiors -- and by the anxiety of their officers to produce big "kill numbers" to appease the bloodlust -- and PR needs -- of the thugs in the White House and their "counterinsurgency genius," David Petraeus.
But let's return to the story of how a sniper squad murdered Genei Nesir Khudair al-Janabi, an Iraqi vegetable farmer, almost one year ago, after he stumbled upon their "hide" on the banks of the Euphrates.

One day, when this is all over, and the truth comes out... I am so afraid we will find out our snipers were deliberately sniping journalists over there.
That it was ORDERED. Policy even.
Remember Rossi, when we found the thing about the mass graves, the Tigris body dumps, and then the Iraqi and French reporters that were ambushed outside Abu Ghraib...? Remember how all the sudden it made sense?
I was hoping in time it would seem absurd, or be proven wrong,,,, something.
It still makes more sense than ever. It is one of the few things that does seem clear. If we are right, it is one of the most brazen war crimes ever to happen on a battlefield.
One day, it will all come out.
Ohhh, Look what Greenwald found. I swear he rocks.
Was Karl Rove involved in the military analyst program?

Caught perino in a flat out lie too!
Perino is Snow in a womans body, Snow was McClellan in a better marketed and packaged product, and McClellan was Fleisher on fatter and with better hair.
Chain, chain, chainnnnnn...
If I may be so bold as to veer away from topic and suggest perhaps starting your day along with me & some music... (or ending it, depending on what side of Mother Earth you are dangling on/from)...
Here's a link to one of my favorite bands myspace page, "King Johnson" out of Atlanta. There is a built in player on the page top right, and it has 5 songs that play automatically from their "Live '05" cd, also a fave of mine.
Instructions:
First, be sure you have either good speakers with decent bass, or headphones on.
Second, play "When" first!
Starts as a funny little country ditty, but by about the minute-thirty mark, if you don't have a serious groove on, yer missing something.
Next, click/play "Atlas".
After that, Yer Left to Your Own Devices!
Happy Tunesday.

Wow! Great music. I'm awake now, MOnkey!!
Here's a link for you.
Surprise #1
Then surprise #2 and surprise #3 are actually the same song but just different people and instrumentation. (And much more mellow and emotional than surprise #1.)
