Get Well Wishes for Christy!
I posted a regular thread below this one earlier today. But I found out that Christy has been very ill.
It sounds like she's over the hump, but if you wish to please place your "Get Well Wishes" here on this thread then you can use the other thread (below this) for all the gloom and doom politics.

Christy,
I am sorry to hear you weren't feeling well, and I am glad to hear things have turned the corner for you. Get well soon.
Oncall
TY Oncall. Strange days. Stranger meds. Very freaking strange meds!
Hey Sparrow, ...IT WORKED! I missed all of you!
Karen.. great house. Congrats and Yes, more pics please. I'll be there somewhere, probably banging on Monkeys drums.
Or next door at the villa spending all Allys money one bottle of .89 cent paint at a time. BTW doll, I talked to my man about it. He agrees if you build it, I should go. I love him.
I love my life. I love you guys! I love DCP!
I love Sparrow! She rules!
Because of Sparrow, something amazing happened to me, even though I was sick.
At the risk of being a total blogho I just have to share... it is all Sparrows fault!

Hey girlfriend what is happening, get well soon from Down Under.
Oh, McCain
Oh, McCain

Hello Rossi. I am so freaking in love with you it hurts.
What hapepepened? Well, I got booted from DCP by a glitch. And then I sent off your portrait of Scarlet. And then I almost died from a staph infection that seemingly sneeked in from no where at all. I thought it was a spiderbite, for almost 3 weeks.
But, other than that, not much.
BTW, if you have any wierd posts from me on your blog, I was totally amped on the good stuff and I am having trouble remembering everything I did when not watering my lawn at 4 am. Please disregard.
Get well, Christy.
Great work at your art blog, Christy!!
Good to hear from you!!
Sounds like it is too late to say "Get well", but not too late to say: STAY well!
Photos from rainy Nova Scotia coming soon...
This just happened, in a red part of Florida. It's a Sam Cooke song.
I was born by the river in a little tent
And just like that river I've been running ever since
It's been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will
It's been too hard living, but I'm afraid to die
Cos I don't know what's out there beyond the sky
It's been a long, a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will
BRIDGE:
And then I go to see my brother
And I ask him to help me please
And he just winds up knockin' me
Back down on my knees
There were times when I thought I couldn't last for long
But now I think I'm able to carry on
It's been a long, been a long time coming
But I know a change is gonna come, oh yes it will

I really like your house Karen, it is so pretty. I dreamed about it last night, I painted it on canvas. It was a good dream.
Not too late to say it at all. This infection is the scariest thing I have ever seen, and even without it the double pnumonia may still be a prob. I have never seen my man so sick, seeing him so weak is really...I have never seen him sick before, not once in 8 years. (The pool accident don't count). It is scary to see someone so strong so weak.
You remember I painted my first Nefertiti on my birthday? That second one I did the other day, on his birthday.
And it feels awful but I can not finish her anytime soon. My hands shake from the meds, when the meds wear off I am still shaking.
It would suck so bad to die now. There is so much left to paint.
I really do appreciate the well wishes. I don't really know how well I am actually doing, but I do feel better. Much stronger.
Thank you guys.
Christy
Get plenty of sleep.
Sleep heals everything.
Dear MoveOn member,
Barack Obama's historic candidacy has sparked an unprecedented artistic outpouring. Now, in partnership with Shepard Fairey and his Obey Giant collective, we're offering a new way for artists—anyone with a pen and paper qualifies—to share their talents and help elect Barack Obama at the same time.
It's called Manifest Hope, and it's a new Obama art contest for 2D and 3D art, from painting to photography to sculpture. The winners will be shown at the Manifest Hope Gallery online and in Denver during the Democratic convention alongside works from dozens of established and influential artists.
If you think you might want to enter, or want updates on the contest, please let us know here:

BREAKING: Pres/CEO and Chairman Resign From Failing Bank Where McCain's Son Suddenly Left Last Week
Big developments this afternoon concerning Silver State Bancorp -- the bank from which Andrew McCain (son of John McCain) suddenly resigned from its board of directors a week ago for "personal reasons." Last night, I updated this story as neither McCain nor the bank have been willing to publicly discuss the reasons for his departure.
Well, today there's been additional high-ranking resignations:
Silver State Bancorp today announced the resignation of Corey L. Johnson as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company and as Chief Executive Officer of Silver State Bank, the Company's wholly-owned bank subsidiary. The Company also announced the resignation of Silver State Bancorp's and Silver State Bank's Chairman of the Board, Bryan S. Norby.
The bank also reported devastating second quarter losses, significantly steeper than were anticipated:
Silver State Bancorp today reported a net loss for the quarter ended June 30, 2008 of $62.7 million, or ($4.15) per diluted share, compared with net income of $6.2 million, or $0.44 per diluted share, reported for the second quarter of 2007.
The loss for the quarter is the direct result of a $58.6 million provision to the Company's loan loss reserve, an impairment charge of $18.8 million representing a full write-down of the Company's goodwill asset, and the establishment of a valuation allowance of $7.1 million to the Company's net deferred tax assets.

In the mood for a liitle rapid response counter-propaganda?
Her dad just lambasted Obama in a radio address - for being an "international celebrity" who won't debate him in populist town halls. He lumped Obama in with Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.
Yet acc/to LA TImes Dishrag blog, his own daughter is a wannabe -
She voted for a Democrat (John Kerry) in 2004.
She has been sucking up to "The Hills" star Heidi Montag at a trendy Santa Monica Restaurant.
She gets her hair down at WeHo salon, just like Kate Hudson, Renee Zellweger, Meg Ryan and Lisa Rinna.
She has her hair cut by the exact same stylist as Jane Fonda!
(Speaking of Heidi Montag, McCain supporter, she has her hair cut by the same stylist as Ellen DeGeneres and uses the same colorist as Kate Hudson, Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker, Scarlett Johansson and Cate Blanchett.) Obama goes to a barber in Chicago.
As one political strategist put it:
"If you were to diagnose the best way to go at Obama in the midst of this disastrous Republican environment, you might come up with the tactics the McCain brain trust unveiled this week: Paint Obama as a bit full of himself, over-confident, elitest and out of touch. There are a number of ways to paint that picture, including attacking Obama for his celebrity. America has a love-hate relationship with celebrity...but the flaw in this attack from McCain is that it doesn't fit who he is...
This is a guy who hangs out with Warren Beatty. This is a guy who is married to a wealthy beer heiress. This is a guy whose senior adviser was Arnold Schwarzenegger's campaign manager. This is a guy who owes much of his success in national politics to marketing himself as a political celebrity.''

Ahahahahahah now why did I feel that coming on, girlfriend good for you.
"She has her hair cut by the exact same stylist as Jane Fonda!"
HAHAHA!
I Love irony!
Welcome to the Land Of The Free,
My Son In Law Andrea, landed in Los Angeles from Down Under, His flight to Los Vegas was grounded for a bomb scare, Landed in Los Vegas and his flight to Philadelphia, was grounded because someone boarded with a suspicious object, still in Philly waiting to board a plane for Pittsburg. Hope he gets there soon.
I hope he gets there eventually roo. Christy - good to see you back. This is my first time here in over a month too. But while you were sick I was holidaying with my kids and grandkids - and meeting great grandchildren I didn't know I had!
Glad to see that you've been extremely creative - sick or not - you don't seem to stop. Stay well!
I loved this article in today's age. The Dalai Lama knew exactly what he was doing - cheeky buddhist! This is how we, in Australia, and I believe, the rest of the world, see this presidential candidate. Don't worry about the "brunette at the brownlow" - just a little nonsense that aussies understand.
Praying for chaos: McCain's last gasp
Guy Rundle
August 3, 2008
CLASPING hands tightly for the cameras, they looked a lovely couple. He was in a neatly cut dark blue suit, and he was in a red and orange number draped to the floor.
A match in California's new gay wedding industry? No, it was John McCain with the Dalai Lama, at the final of a series of disastrous public appearances one week ago. There was nothing wrong with the idea — establish McCain not merely as a man of the world, but as a man of peace as well as war — but who was to know that the damn monk would hang on to the man like a brunette at the Brownlow?

That article is one of the funniest things I have read in a long time.
Just try reading it without snickering the whole way through!
McMumbles. Is. Toast.
Great article, thanks Woz!

Christy,
Hon, after you read this please check your email.
I had a feeling something traumatic was going on, because you are usually at the DCP at least three times a week.
Does your man have an infection? How are the kids?
I tried to pull up your old blog address, but it appears that someone else is at that addy now.
I am glad to hear that things have turned a corner. Get well really quick!
Love,
TSP
May your infection/illness burn all the unneeded/unwanted stuff andmay you bloom anew!
Love the paintings.....love the news of breakthroughs.....
Marjorie

Hey Christy:
Didn't know you were feeling poorly but glad to know you're OK now! All the best! And here we go with another storm, and me in Bangkok! I suppose you guys up north there are well out of the way. I had a premonition this trip too that we'd get one (don't laugh -- my grandma had premonitions too so it runs in the family). The day Katrina hit, I was flying out of Intercontinental to Doha. On my next hitch there -- Rita. This is (I hope) my last hitch in Bangkok on this job and flying out I definitely had a premonition....
Well, looking at the satellite on chron.com it looks like it's time to call the wife!
Again, all the best,
Chuck in Bangkok
Well, looks like SW Houston is OK (Beaumont seems to be it again).
